We can deliver entry-level and advanced user training courses on most accounting software, including Sage, Xero, Quickbooks.

We list below a few of the courses we are offering at this time.

Prices includes training up to six people, and assumes we will travel to your training facility to deliver the course. We can arrange alternate venues at an additional costs to suite our clients requirements.

MS Excel in Business

We continue to prefer to use spreadsheets for critical management and accounting functions in preference to the commercial software we could use. We find relying upon proprietary software always involves a degree of compromise. They rarely work in the way that completely satisfies our needs. A case of round pegs and square holes, which can be overcome by starting with a blank spreadsheet and designing an application that fits our needs perfectly.

Course overview

We have years of training beginners and advanced users of Excel on how to get the best out their spreadsheets. We make a point of discovering what might be relevant to their workplace role, and design a day of training that builds a sophisticated solution step-by-step to demonstrate what Excel is capable of.

Client book-keeping methods in the age of AI accounting software

In the past, many smaller organisations only made limited use of their accounting software, focusing on the need to produce quarterly VAT returns; manage the sales and purchases ledgers, and produce the year end reports for their accountants. Modern versions now make it far easier to produce valuable cash-flow and business performance reports that will allow management to better manage their business.

Risk management for small businesses

Translating the expanding body of academic research into risk management into practical applications has become a lucrative market, worth millions of pounds annually. Traditionally, this field has been dominated by larger organisations with the resources to implement advanced risk management strategies.

Despite the perception that risk management is a domain reserved for big businesses, it is highly advisable for even the smallest organisations to adopt selected risk management models. By doing so, they can identify and address factors that threaten their ongoing operations and their ability to prosper within their chosen sectors.

Course overview

We use a topical case study to base a free-flowing discussion on how different risk management modeling tools and concepts can be applied to the problem in hand. The aim is to allow those attending to identify what issues affect them in their work, which in turns guides how the risk management tools are presented over the course of the day to develop workable strategies to mitigate the risks involved. This approach takes skill to lead, but always proves the best kind of learning experience.
