Updating your Companies House records with your PSC's ID-Verification details

Step 2: Signing In

We used our GOV.UK One login account to sign in to our Companies House account to complete the PSC data entry. If you do not have a one login account, you may find you are directed to create one before you can proceed. If not, we cautiously recommend you adopt the one login option.

While we remain highly skeptical that any government agency can guarantee the security of their online systems, we support their ambition to update the systems they require us to use, and more importantly retire the older systems that may represent a real security threat for users who continue to rely upon them.

Whether the one login programmes will prove to be the safest system remains to be seen. Putting all your eggs in one basket has never been a safe risk policy to pursue, but the piper plays the tune we must follow. This prompts us to remind everyone to use stronger passwords, restrict who you make them available to, and change them frequently. There is no shortage of credible advice on password management. We commend reading the government's advice on the matter because if they cannot get it right, we are all well and truly vulnerable to data misuse when you consider how much information they hold on us.
